Srirangam Vaikuntha Ekadashi Festival 2017 Timetable

Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, Srirangam Vaikuntha Ekadashi celebrations in Srirangam last 21 days, divided into two parts: pagal pathu (morning part) and Ira pathu (night part). [Vishnu as Lord Ranganatha is adorned by an armor of diamonds (rathnaangi) and brought to the Thousand-Pillared Hall from the sanctum sanctorum through the northern gate known as Paramapada Vasal, the gate to Vaikuntha. This gate is opened once in a year, only on the Vaikuntha Ekadashi day. It is said that any one who goes through the Paramapada Vasal will reach vaikuntham.

1,00,008 vada maalai and 10,008 jangiri maalai offer to Lord Hanuman at Sri Anjaneyar temple ,Kallukuzhi on December 28,2016

The Hanuman Jayanthi festival is going to be celebrated in a grand manner at Sri Anjaneyar temple in Kallukuzhi with offering of 1,00,008 'vada maalai' (garland of vada) and 10,008 jangiri maalai (garland of sweet jangiri) to the main deity on Wednesday morning (28-12-16).

A large number of devotees from across Trichy are going to witness a spiritual offer of vada maalai to Lord Anjaneyar, the prime deity at the Kallukuzhi Sri Anjaneyar temple. Officials of Hindu religious and charitable endowment (HR&CE) and temple priests made all the arrangements for the yearly festival.

Many devotees involved themselves in the preparation of vada malai on Tuesday night(27-12-16). The festival commenced with a special abishekham and aradhana to the Anjaneyar at 5.00am followed by a mega event of garlanding the deity with 1,00,008 vada maalai at 7pm.

The puja is going to witness by a large number of devotees who also get the darshan of the lord. The vada maalai and jangiri maalai will also offer to the Urchavar. The Laksharchanai is going to be held continuously from 7am to 9pm on  28-12-16.

Hanuman Jayanthi 2016 in Tamilnadu

In Tamilnadu Hanuman Jayanti is observed during the Tamil month of Margazhi (December – January). Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated to remember the birth of Hindu God Hanuman Swamy. The festival is also known as Anjaneya Janmadhinam and falls on the Moolam Nakshatram day in Margazhi masam. Margali month is considered to be one of the important months by Tamil people across the globe. This year, the date of Hanuman Jayanti in Tamilnadu is going to be held on 28th December 2016.



Lord Hanuman is an avatar of Lord Shiva and is regarded as a symbol of strength and energy. Hanuman was born to Anjana and Kesari in Anjana Giri Mountain. Hanuman was an ardent devotee of Lord Rama and is one of the central characters in Hindu epic Ramayana. According to a popular belief Hanuman is present wherever the story or Lord Rama is recited.

Hence Hanuman devotees read Ramayana on Hanuman Jayanthi and recite prayers dedicated to Lord Ram and Hanuman.Special poojas are conducted on Hanuman Temples and Sree Rama temples from early dawn as it is believed that Hanuman was born on early morning.

Worshipping Hanuman will help to attain mental and physical strength, devotion, knowledge, glory, prosperity and success in life.
